My uncle contracted SARS-CoV-2 while at the hospital getting treated for a heart condition. He was discharged home and told almost a week later he was positive. His wife, son and grandson are all now positive as well and fighting COVID-19. Within days of learning he was positive he required hospitalization. He knew when he went in to the hospital it was the last time he would see his family. He died Friday after spending 8 days on a ventilator without any contact from his family allowed. To all of the nurses, doctors and staff at Slidell Memorial who risk their lives every day so that no one has to die alone without any dignity, thank you.
It's time for me to get in the mix.
